Kathy's Desk Plan

Build a Computer Desk, in One Weekend, with One Sheet of Plywood, For Under $100.00

My Computer Desk is Finished, & I built it Myself

""I used my jigsaw to cut out a half circle in the back of the monitor shelf, in the far right section for wires to be threaded through. I used a small plate to mark it off.

Then I put the monitor shelf on the desk. ALMOST DONE !!!

I still need to finish it somehow. I think I'll use paint. You could stain yours. I'm also going to put furniture glides on the legs so my floor won't get all scratched up. The monitor shelf should be attached to the desk with screws. I'm going to put mine up through the desk surface & into the outside 2x6. I think I'll wait until I have it in my computer room before I attach it so it will be easier to move the desk into it's permanent place.

""

OK, here it is, in use. I used oil based paint from a real paint store. I stopped at a big home improvement store on my way home from work one day, but the nice young man in the paint department dismissed my request for oil based paint, & tried to tell me latex is better now. So I left & went to the paint store. I bought a quart of oil base interior satin enamel, & have plenty left over.

Next you can make a CPU stand with the leftover plywood. ""
