Constructing the Monitor Shelf

I started by glueing one of the 15" 1X6's to end of the board, adding a short piece of corner molding I had laying around to help make sure it was a square join, do the same thing on the other end.

Here I'm getting ready to glue the back piece in place.

I got tired & quit for the day at this point. I put the partially completed monitor shelf on the desk to see how it looked so far. It's already being useful by holding my tools & supplies.

My friend Sandy called to ask what I was up to, & I told her "making a computer desk in the dining room". She asked where did we put the dining room table & I said nowhere, it was still in the dining room. She said she thought there wasn't enough room, & I told her she was right, but I was doing it anyway. :~)

Next, add braces and dividers to the monitor shelf
